Whitby and the Cottages
Whitby is an ideal holiday centre. It is an old fishing port with water sports and miles of sandy beaches, the home of Captain Cook, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. The moors, woods and villages - 'Heartbeat' country are wonderful for walking and exploring. The cathedral city of York is an hour away.
East Cliff Cottages are under the cliff in the old quarter of town between the Abbey steps and the sea in a narrow cobbled street leading from Market Square to the East pier. Shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants are just down the street past the 199 Abbey steps. Over the harbour bridge, a short walk away are the larger shops, entertainments, fish quay, railway and bus station.

- The cottages all enjoy views of the harbour and sea and have 3 Star English Tourist Board accreditation.
- They are in a quiet location in a street with no through traffic and vehicle access is restricted to residents only.
- They share a private car park - rare in Old Whitby.
- They are completely self contained, with bathrooms, electric showers, fridges, cookers, microwave ovens, toasters, colour TVs, DVD players, and garden furniture on the balconies.
- The old houses have been carefully modernised to form three ground floor flats, two double storey above and one three story cottage.
- All have superb, uninterrupted views of the small busy harbour, across the bay and out to sea. Balconies, terraces and steps lead down to a private gate and the safe, sandy beach below.
- There are no additional charges for hot water, heating, gas or electricity.
- All are fully equipped and all the beds have duvets. Cots and high chairs are available - just let us know when booking. Please bring bed linen, table linen and towels: or rent them from us.
